The Cbbc and Cbeebies analysis

Cbeebies target audience is 0 to 6 years old. Each programs will have a more concentrated audience as content for a 3 year old won’t be appealing to a 6 year old. For example a 3 year old may like Shaun the sheep but most likely a 6 year old will not like it and prefer Andy dinosaur adventures.  The age also determines what time these programs will be on for example really young children (0 years to 3 years) will have more time to watch TV as they do not go to school so their programs will be earlier and the content of the shows will be more fantasy and nonfiction but as they grow older the more realism comes into the programs to show them the events of real life.

Cbbc target audience is 6 to 12 this just before they become teenagers. Just like Cbeebies each programs will have a concentrated audience as content for 6 year old will not appeal to a ten year old. For example 7 year old's might like Scooby Doo but it won’t appeal to someone who is twelve. who would prefer to watch dragons defenders of berk . When kids grow in age the BBC thinks that their programs should be slightly more real and can relate to the kids rather than just fiction. There are programs which are fiction but it will be more detailed and have a more in depth story as the kids are older and can understand more. The age also affects the time these programs are shown as the older kids can stay up later then the younger kids. So their programs will be shown generally at a later.
